Land Connection, Kalaja
The park has three hiking trails that offer challenges and experiences for hikers of all levels. The Kalaja Loop is a 4.6 km trail that includes a steep ascent and descent via stairs. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy breathtaking views. The total distance from the parking area is about 7 km. The trail passes by the Vuori-Kalaja lean-to, located by a pond and offering a beautiful picnic spot. The lean-to is easily accessible and also serves as an excellent destination for families with small children. The Kolmen Vuoren Vaellus hike is a demanding 14 km trail that requires an overnight stay.
The transport departs from Jyväskylä Travel Centre at 11:00 and continues via Hankasalmi’s Revontuli Resort at 11:45. The final stop is the Bus Park at Törmälä Course Centre at 12:30.
The return transport departs from Törmälä at 17:30, passing via Revontuli Resort at 18:15. The bus arrives at Jyväskylä Travel Centre at 19:15.
Water Connection, Häyrylänranta
The water gateway to Southern Konnevesi National Park opens from Häyrylänranta harbor. The Outdoor Express transport takes you to the harbor and its services. You can book a guided paddling tour or explore the park’s waters independently by kayak or SUP board. On a cruise, you can admire iconic landscapes and enjoy a summer day with refreshments.
A short walk from the harbor, the 2.2 km Partiomaja Trail offers an excellent destination in the park’s embrace. The trail follows the natural habitat of wild lake trout along the shores of Karinkoski and Taikainen on a sheltered forest path. Along the trail, there is also a lean-to and the Partiomaja hut with campfire sites.
Häyrylänranta also has a harbor restaurant and a caravan area with tent sites. The area has showers, toilets, and a beach.
